    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

"Connection to Android Auto is slow after starting car, it can take a few minutes (really) for the screen to show"

Anonymous, NJ (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)

    Display screen goes blank

    "fix =dealer replaced computer"

Anonymous A., CA (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro Electric)

"The display screen would go blank randomly on many occasions. The only fix was to stop and turn the car off and restart. It was like rebooting a computer. It was annoying when this happened because you could not control the air conditioner or radio or see the route you were driving to. It was a serious problem and VW never had a solution. The repeated trips to the dealership was no help because there was no computer update available to fix the problem."

Anonymous, FL (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)

"Sometimes (once every 3 months) the screen wont activate when the car starts. You have to restart the system by holding down its power button."

    Anonymous A., CA (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The wireless cell phone charger really doesn't charge your phone. It may keep it at level while navigating but won't allow it to get more charge. Seems like a poor product and sometimes the phone becomes very hot."

Anonymous, VA (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

    Anonymous A., HI (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)

"Vehicle recall. After it was checked and found to need a cell replacement but was told to keep driving it while parts were obtained. Shortly after got a battery drive train error. Then a cell replaced. Another few weeks got the same error again, another cell was replaced. Both times car in shop for about ten days."

Anonymous, CA (2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric)
    Other electric/hybrid battery problem

"The DC to DC voltage converter charges the 12V battery by reducing the voltage of the high voltage battery to a level that will charge the 12V battery. The converter failed; the car lost 12V power and would not run. As of this writing, the car is still in the shop.
