We went to use it Saturday and the display screen showed their logo but would not take any comands so we had no navigation or radio for the day, We stopped and started it many times during the day but it never came back. My wife started it late in the evening and it went back to normal but tthat indicates to me the unit is going out and I hear it's expensive to have fixed."

    Anonymous, (2019 Subaru Legacy 3.6R 3.6-L 6 Cyl)

"Once it started, radio unit was frozen on a station and screen. Had to wait 9 months for the dealer to get in a replacement"

Anonymous, VA (2019 Subaru Legacy Sport 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The communications module was draining the battery even when the car was turned off. Subaru had knowledge of the problem but would not take responsibility for the problem. I had to replace 3 batteries in 4 months as the car would not start at all. I researched myself and informed Subara that the problem had been identified by a consumer. My local Subaru "fixed" the problem by disconnecting the communications module, removing the fuse so that it could not engage. They say the have a new module that works better but I've been waiting for it for months."

Anonymous, NJ (2019 Subaru Legacy 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The data communications module for the Subaru that is responsible for communication with Subaru's Starlink is defective. Whenever the car is not on the DCM still tries to contact Subaru Starlink. This results in a parasitic battery drain that kills the battery before the car has to be driven again. I've had to jump the (relatively new) battery of my car several times before I was aware of the issue."

Anonymous, TN (2019 Subaru Legacy Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Radio

"Infotainment unit!!! Yikes ..radio jumps station to station, unable to use Sirius, CD player, Ipod. Started 9/23. Some call radio situation 'ghosting'. Have been to dealership where purchased without resolution. Will not spends thousands on new unit. Currently have hope with classaction suit in mediation. Otherwise, this car a gem ..mechanically."

Anonymous A., FL (2019 Subaru Legacy Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"When you put it on a station it will not stay and switches to Scan. If you select a station during Scan. If you select a station during Scan, it ignores that and continues to scan."

    Anonymous A., WA (2019 Subaru Legacy 3.6-L 6 Cyl)

"It won't stay on one station. It jumps around every few seconds."

Anonymous, NY (2019 Subaru Legacy 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Exhaust leaks

"The entire exhaust system was replaced at 100000 miles in 2023. Very expensive job. The car had lots of miles and Vermont winters are tough, so it was totally unexpected."

Anonymous A., VT (2019 Subaru Legacy Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Loose/rattling heat shield

"Rattled, progressively louder, then the lower half fell off in the driveway. Our mechanic says it is still safe to drive, the other half appears to be rattling and we think it poked a hole in the muffler when it fell (sounds like a hot rod).... just haven't arranged to have it fixed"

Anonymous, NY (2019 Subaru Legacy 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
    Other/unsure

"There is a continuous drain on the battery caused by the DCM (Data Collection Module). The problem began when cellphone companies stopped support 3G networks. Subaru and their dealer failed to address this problem."

Anonymous, WI (2019 Subaru Legacy Premium 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Continuous dead battery issue started in August 2023. due to G3 programming for Starlink Programming issuedead battery every 3-4 days if car not driven daily (its not). Temporary fix installed by Subaru in June 2024. Permanent fix to be available in Q3 of 2025."

    Anonymous, PA (2019 Subaru Legacy 3.6R 3.6-L 6 Cyl)

    What Owners Say

    12V battery

"My car battery frequently dies. Subaru had a class action remedy for this problem and supplied me with an inadequate free new battery. I subsequently replaced with a more powerful battery that also does not maintain consistent charge. I need to be sure to drive the car 10 miles or let it idle for 20-30 minutes within 24 hours. This did not happen in the first four years of car ownership."

    Anonymous, OR (2019 Subaru Legacy 2.5i 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"Parasitic battery drain. Started in Nov. 2023. Still not resolved. We have purchased 3 batteries since Nov. plus 4 jumpstarts from AAA. Car currently at Subaru dealer for service."
