    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Air or water leaks

"Water leaking began at one window and over time increased to all windows and increased in volume soaking the floor mats."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

"The drain for the sunroff got clogged and caused water to leak into the car soaking the entire back floor. This was the second time this same exact thing happened within 3 years."

Anonymous, NY (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

"Suspect rear drain from sun roof not working/plugged"

Anonymous, NS (2017 Nissan Murano SV 3.5-L V6)

"Discuss this problem in previous area."

Anonymous, TN (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)
    Seals and/or weather-stripping

Anonymous, NY (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling)

"Pearl white paint started bubbling and peeling after the 24 month ownership period. Nissan spent 8 months putting us through inspections and said it was not a manufacturing flaw."

    Anonymous A., FL (2017 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)

"Paint is peeling in the hood and around the rest of the vehicle like in doors."

Anonymous, PR (2017 Nissan Murano SV 3.5-L V6)

"The paint appears to lack a primer coat. It started as a speck on the passenger side near the headlights. It now has peeled off a spot on both passenger and driver sides down to bare metal. The spots are about 5 in diameter and growing. It now has started a spot on the hood. They say they dont warranty paint. Toyota repainted my hood when this happened. So disappointed in a five year old car. Ill never buy a Nissan again. My wifes next car will be a Toyota, as long as your results continue to top rank them."

    Anonymous A., GA (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)
    Rust

"There is a piece of trim that covers a portion of the rocker panel. Rust has developed UNDER this piece of trim on the passenger side. Rust was first noticed about a year ago. Nissan would not cover it under their rust warranty. It has not been repaired."

    Anonymous A., ON (2017 Nissan Murano SL 3.5-L V6)

"Rust on the passenger running board area under the plastic floor trim. The manufacturer has not and will not provide any advice or support for this problem, the only thing they said was to contact a body shop. And we paid for additional rust coverage but I guess that has expired."

Anonymous, AB (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

    Drive System

Driveshaft or axle, CV joint, differential, transfer case, four-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive components, driveline vibration, electrical failure, traction control, electronic stability control.

    What Owners Say

    Driveshaft or axle

"I was told that I had an axle leak in Dec 2023. In Feb 2023 I took the car in and had the right front drive shaft replaced... Thankfully the $1240 repair was taken care of with the extended warranty I bought when I purchased my vehicle."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)
    Other driveline problem

"The transfer case is part of the drive line. It supplies torque to the rear differential. I had intermittent problems until one day when the gears totally disintegrated and I had to have the car towed to the dealer. It took a week to replace. It cost my mechanical insurer $4700, per the invoice. When this happens, it is not a cheap fix."

Anonymous, WA (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

Anonymous, AB (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)

    What Owners Say

    Other climate system problem

"Dealer charged $175 to track down driver seat heating and cooling module inoperable. Wanted $1100 to replace module. I can order this part new, OEM from Nissan dealer un-installed for $300."

Anonymous, OK (2017 Nissan Murano Platinum 3.5-L V6)
    Refrigerant leaks

"Noticed air conditioning not performing at peak capacity. Extremely small leak. Nissan, disappointingly, stated no leak in charged for emptying and refilling our refrigerant. We have an extended warranty that they did not honor in this instance. The water leak, two different leaks; moonroof was stopped up with leaves from being parked outside. Second leak, after heavy rains water pooled in front floor boards. Nissan stated this was probably also do to stopped up moonroof. Note; floorboard leaks continued sporadically after moonroof was cleared of debris. Extremely unhappy with Nissans failure to honor our extended warranty for full coverage of problems. Specifically refrigerantly in air conditioning."

Mind you I had rotated the tires approx 8,000 miles prior to being told that I needed new tires. They refused to rotate my tires at the time stating that I needed new tires and driving without changing the tires now would be dangerous."

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

A brake fluid leak on the circuit board may result in an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.
    Summary:
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Nissan Murano, 2016-2018 Nissan Maxima, and 2017-2019 Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and unrepaired, or inspected and determined to not need a repair, under recall number 18V-601. In addition, this recall expands the previous population. The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) actuator pumps may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal circuit board.
    What should you do:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS actuator, free of charge. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available, currently expected to be during summer 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: If the ABS warning light remains illuminated for more than 10 seconds after engine start up, owners are advised to park the vehicle outdoors away from other vehicles or structures and to not drive the vehicle.
    For more information:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
