"There is a very small, lightweight spring that likely broke. Based on research and dealer estimation. There is an annoying message every time you start the car that states the car may roll away. BMW just recently agreed to fix the problem on Mini's with this problem."

"A light went on while i was driving on a highway in sixth gear saying my clutch was over heating. I had not shifted gears for over an hour. A few minutes later the car was making a strange noise I tried to down shift and then I could not shift at all. I pulled over and could not get the car in gear again. The car needed to be towed and I needed to replace the clutch"

Both the dealer and the independant repair shop said they had never seen anything like it. The driver had 45 years of experience driving manual transmissions without any issues so driver error was not a contributing factor."

"Steering wheel grinds when turning or backing at low speeds. Dealer couldnt replicate problem during test drive. Still ongoing. Im waiting for it to get bad enough that they will experience it and diagnose. Not a good feeling."
