"The design of the brakes on several models of the mini Cooper have known flaws: they rust and rot fast: within the first two years I had to replace them all (brakes/drum/rotors). Mini first refused to honor their five year warranty; tried to tell me breaks weren't included but a mechanic let me know it was a known problem. I fought it and won. But they failed AGAIN three years later. Keep in mind, I drive the car very little--an average of 1200 a year."
