    Lincoln Navigator First Drive

    Introduction

A completely redesigned version of this Ford Expedition-based luxury SUV arrived for 2003. The new Navigator features a fully independent suspension, a lower step-in height, and a power-operated split third-row seat that folds flat into the floor and can be deployed by pressing a button. The cabin is quiet, and both ride and handling are significantly improved over the old version. The steering is responsive and the ride supple. The center section of the 40/20/40 second-row seat slides forward to allow a child to sit closer to front-seat passengers. Access to the unusually comfortable and roomy third-row bench is also greatly improved.
