    Reliability

    Overall Reliability

We expect the 2025 RX Hybrid will be more reliable than the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2023 and 2024 models.

    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2022 Lexus RX Hybrid owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Other brakes problem

"Creaky brake pedal has been a reoccurring problem resulting in the brake actuator being replaced on two different occasions."

Anonymous, NC (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid 450h 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Premature brake wear

"When I took our vehicle to the dealership this spring to have the winter tires changed the mechanic identified a brake issue. It took almost a month to get the parts (never explained what was being ordered) and then I had to take it in again to have the brakes repaired. This took 48 hours to complete. Again, no exact details about the parts or the repairs were shared. The entire cost was covered under warranty. Their new service advisors (hired when the new Lexus dealership opened) don't have the knowledge and experience or customer service expertise that the former service advisor had. He is now the service lead at the Toyota Dealership owned by the same company."

Anonymous, SK (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid F Sport 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"The speaker/microphone system performs poorly. When I use apple car play for phone calls- recipients of my call often have a hard time hearing me, even the Lexus dealer!"

Anonymous, MA (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid 450h 3.5-L V6 hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"The Bluetooth option is now grayed out. I cannot access Bluetooth at all. The car will not pair to my phone anymore. I can only utilize Apple car play with a charging cable."

Anonymous, TX (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid 450h 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    Headlights

"The left eyebrow stopped working (randomly) Was under warranty and replaced. Cost would have been over $3800. Only 1 available in the country"

Anonymous, OH (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid 450h 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    Body Hardware

Windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect.

    What Owners Say

    Tailgate, hatch or trunk

"The design of the hatch cover is terrible compared to our former Rx model. Once retracted, I often have trouble connecting it back into the moulded side connectors. I do like that the unit can be fairly easily removed but after almost two years the screws that are intsalled keep falling out and I have to reinstall them myself."

Anonymous, SK (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid F Sport 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Other climate system problem

"The A/C is not working in the backseat vents. I do not know if the issue is with the actual vent mechanism or the air conditioner"

Anonymous, TX (2022 Lexus RX Hybrid 450h 3.5-L V6 hybrid)

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
