Lexus LX

This luxury SUV is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, itself quite plush and upscale. The Land Cruiser has the strong 5.7-liter V8 from the Tundra pickup, a comfortable ride, and a quiet, nicely appointed cabin. Added Lexus features include a height adjustable suspension. Like the Toyota, the LX has an off-road crawl mode that manages throttle and braking over tough terrain, and the SUV is very impressive off-road. A power-folding third-row seat is new, but it folds up to the sides of the interior, limiting cargo space.
