    Reliability

    Overall Reliability

We expect the 2025 Wrangler will be less reliable than the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2022, 2023, and 2024 models and the Jeep brand score.

    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2015 Jeep Wrangler owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Antilock braking system (ABS)

"The ABS Control module (The electronic part that monitors and controls the ABS system, not the Hydraulic ABS Unit) needed replacing and it is completely unavailable at any Jeep dealership in the Country. This part has been on back order by MOPAR/Jeep/Stellantis for 3 years. They are never able to get this simple replacement part out to the Jeep owners who need it. There is always no ETA and endless excuses that make no sense to hundreds of thousands of Jeep Wrangler owners who need this replacement part. Stellantis refuses to manufacture adequate supplies of replacement parts especially basic electronic parts for Jeeps that were designed and sold before Stellantis took over ownership of the company in approx. 2019! Unacceptable customer service! They should be publicly disciplined for this lack of fealty to Jeep owners."

    Calipers

"it smelt like burning and smoke"

Anonymous, NC (2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)

"New OEM calipers ceased after 3 months"

Anonymous, ON (2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.6-L V6)

"My calipers started to stick or prematurely apply the brakes after replacing the brake pads on all 4 wheels at a reputable Jeep Dealership. The two front calipers had to be replaced and over time the rear calipers stopped sticking/ seizing up in traffic, and seem to be working okay, now, 11 months after the pads were replaced."

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Blower (fan) motor

"The blower, and the compressor with both replaced in this saga of the a/c and heater, all while never solving the problem. The one problem that was solved was the a/c was not working at all. That was a motor of some kind, I believe. They replaced that at Pep Boys. The issue of temperature control just resulted in these two places, Pep Boys and the Jeep Dealer, simply replacing various parts that weren't broken, charging me, and never fixing the temperature control problem."

    Anonymous A., FL (2015 Jeep Wrangler Willys 3.6-L V6)
    Heater system

"The problems remain unresolved after taking it first to Pep Boys, and then to the Jeep Dealer in Pensacola, FL. Both replaces various parts (blower, actuators, other things) and both charged for an unresolved issue. Pep Boys DID get the A/C running, I'll give them that. But what remains there is zero temperature control in heating or cooling. It's either on full heat (HOT!) or full A/C (COLD). It's simple turn dial temperature adjuster that always worked previously without issue. Now there is no way to make any adjustment in temperature. So you sit there turning it on and off, to bake or freeze. I brought it back to Pep Boys and they replaced an actuator, gave it back saying it was fixed, and I drove away only to find it WAS NOT fixed at all. Frustrated, I finally took it to the local Jeep dealer. This is not where I bought the Jeep (I bought it in Albuquerque.). The Pensacola dealer is notorious for keeping your car a week or more just for routine maintenance, and I dreaded taking it there. You wait 3 weeks or more just to get an appointment, drop it off, and never know when you will see it again. It can be days (literally) before they even begin working on your car, despite having an appointment! The same thing happened here. They replaced this and that, handed it backed, charged me a couple of grand, and I drove a way and discovered before I was a mile down the road that there was still NO temperature control! I brought it right back! I had a virtual committee of employees get in the Jeep with me to demonstrate what I'm talking, as not one of them, including to "technicians" as they are now called, seemed understand my words: "no temperature control.". "No ability to adjust temperature.". They argued with me until they sat in the care and I showed them. Sure you can adjust the fan, but NOT the temp! They finally looked at each other and said, "she's not wrong.". I left it with them, another $1,000 later and another actuator (part of the moment, it seems), and they give it back. I drive away, it's still exactly the same as when I brought it in! I've paid these yahoos $3,000.00 and they never fixed the actual problem I brought it in for! At this point, given the age and mileage, we've decided to probably trade this Jeep in, much as I love my Jeep, due to this issue and the lack of service in Pensacola where we live. I will probably by another Wrangler, and I'm looking around. I will NOT buy from the Pensacola Dealer, that one thing is certain. I am disgusted with their service department both for the work and the unreasonable length of time they always keep the vehicle. I don't want to do business with them for a new vehicle, that is for sure. My husband and I just basically gave up on getting this heating/a/c problem fixed around Pensacola, where no one knows what they're doing, they don't listen, and they argue with the customer about what's going on!"

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for over 300,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2024 vehicles are holding up in 20 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, electric motor, EV charging, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical accessories. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
