"Grinding sound in normal operation led us to take it for service. Informed that the aluminum housing of the PTU had cracked, causing loss of lubricating fluids and mechanical failure. It took over three months for dealer to source a replacement unit, during which time they had the vehicle as it was not driveable. Costly repair for us, as vehicle was out of warranty and they did not disclose any recall in effect."
