    Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Android Auto

"It never crossed my mind - before buying the Hybrid sight unseen - that it wouldn't have a USB port, satellite radio, or a button that would open the garage door (I ended up spending $850 for a new mirror that would open the garage door, which is garbage. The service rep commented - sarcastically, I hope - "Aren't you glad you didn't have to finance that, too?")."

Anonymous, TX (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Apple CarPlay

"Apple CarPlay loses its connection to my iPhone. It happened frequently when I purchased the car in mid-July. Honda reported that it was a known issue. It still happens occasionally, but much less often."

Anonymous, GA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"One day the Apple car play stopped working. I tried multiple troubleshooting options with no success. The blue tooth worked but the Apple car play didnt work. The plug for the direct connection would charge but not connect to apple car play. Lasted about 3 weeks till I took it to the dealer. They couldnt find anything wrong. They tried connecting my phone over and over for 10 minutes and it finally reconnected."

Anonymous, PA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Display screen freezes up

"On two different occasions, some features became unresponsive. For example, the screen would continue to display the Apple Car Play map, but the radio volume knob was unresponsive. The Honda salesman showed me how to return the Infotainment system to factory settings. The second time it happened, I was able to reset the system to factory settings myself. Resetting the system fixed the problem both times. This is annoying, not a safety concern. As a result, I leave everything on factory settings except the radio channel presets (these must be reset each time)."

Anonymous, VA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"When we first purchased this car, Android Auto and Alexa app worked, now we have continual problems and Alexa app doesn't work anymore at all, even with my smart phone"

Anonymous, TX (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"No satellite radio? And setting the car up to "talk to" my phone has taken at least a dozen attempts because the process doesn't track the steps that Honda or Sirius XM envision, and also don't track the instructions set forth (some demonstrated through video) online. And, despite the fact that the Owner's Manual shows EXACTLY where the USB port (to plug in a portable CD player, for example) is located, it's not there. So you are stuck using FM radio that may or may not even exist, depending on what country backroads you're traveling on, because you can't change from one XM station to another using the car, but rather only by switching channel through the phone, thereby forcing your eyes off the road."

Anonymous, TX (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other in-car electronics problem

"The wireless charging station has never worked for my iPhone 15 and Honda says its a known issue with no fix in sight."

Anonymous A., NV (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Phone pairing (e.g., Bluetooth)

"Although Android Auto and Apple Carplay work the phones will not connect or rather the audio and microphone on the car won't work."

Anonymous A., NC (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"The phone would not link to the car and the infotaiment system would lock up to the point where you could not lower the volume even on the radio"

Anonymous, WA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Sometimes, the car fails to pair with my phone automatically. It's impossible to pair while driving, so I need to pull over, turn off the car, and turn the car back on. Now that I know it happens occasionally, I watch to see if Apple Car Play comes on automatically. If not, I turn the car off and on again before I start driving. This problem happens every couple of weeks."

Anonymous, VA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Frequently the pairing feature fails and I have to toggle through the menu and forget my device then re-pair it very annoying and has required me to pull over to take care of it safely"

Anonymous A., NV (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

    What Owners Say

Electric/hybrid battery pack malfunction (didn't need replacement)

"They had to replace the power control unit. The car was acting very strange, all bells and whistles kept alarming."

Anonymous A., OH (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

"Every error code flashed on the dashboard, engine light then went on and the car would not start. Wait 5 mins and it would start and run perfectly. The technician scanned the PCMand found DTC POABA Battery condition monitor problem. Replaced Battery monitor control module on Jan 2, 2024. No problems since"

Anonymous, MA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other electric/hybrid battery problem

"The car seems to randomly die and flash a bunch of failure messages (happened twice in past 1000 miles). But can turn it off and reboot like a computer, then is fine. AM afraid of when/and under what circumstyances it would next quit."

Anonymous, MT (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Seals and/or weather-stripping

"Windshield leaked water. Dealer analyzed problem and fixed without replacing windshield under warranty."

Anonymous, CT (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Squeaks or rattles

"There is a rattle in the dash board that I can not find. I bought the car in October 2023"

Anonymous A., CA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    Blower (fan) motor

"Squeaked loudly when the A/C would switch to recirculate and back. Honda repaired by re-greasing one of the components"

Anonymous, NC (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)
    Other climate system problem

"The service department at my dealer found the reason for air not being pushed through the front driver-sidevents. Some of the inside insulation had not been placed and secured properly, so it was covering the vents completely. The dealer fixed the problem."

Anonymous, GA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

Anonymous, GA (2023 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L 2.0-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

    Fuel System/Emissions

Sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank.

    What Owners Say
