    First Take
The Accord Hybrid returned for the 2014 model year. A plug-in version is available in some states and has a claimed electric range of 13 miles. The regular hybrid achieved an impressive 40-mpg overall in our testing and operates smoothly, but it doesn't ride or handle as well and sacrifices a lot of trunk space compared to gas-only Accords. It has a roomy and well-finished interior. The gas-only four-cylinder Accord is well-equipped, competitively priced, and performs well, making it one of our top-rated family sedans. It handles responsively, though the ride can be choppy. It gets 30-mpg overall with its unobtrusive CVT. The 3.5-liter gas-only V6 is lively and refined, and gets a very good 26-mpg overall. But the infotainment system on the high-end versions of this generation Accord is unintuitive. Higher end models have also had problems with the touch-screen infotainment system.
