External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"Discovered well after purchase that this vehicle doesnt have an audio jack (!!) so its not possible to play music on a laptop through the audio system. GMC said a simple $10 adaptor would allow this but that is incorrect and it doesnt. The USB port will connect to the sound system only for Apple CarPlay or the Android equivalent, otherwise is only functional for charging. GMC didnt respond when I advised that their fix didnt fix the problem."
