"Clutch System in the Automatic Transmission had to be replaced"

"When beginning to drive from first to second the vehicle chugs considerably trying to get into gear. You can feel and hear the slipping. This is a consistent issue the vehicle has had since a previous transmission replacement under the 60,000 mile warranty. The replacement was the same model and we were told by Ford it would have the same issue."

"This is one of the first batch of vehicles with a computer controlled manual drive train and the software has been very hard on the transmission, requiring multiple replacements and rebuilds. Luckily most have been covered by warranty and recalls, so my out of pocket costs was less impactful."

"Vehicle was unable to go into reverse. This model of car is known to have transmission problems, we had received notice of a recall. Our issue did not fall under the recall specifications. We paid more than 7,000 to have the transmission replaced. The issue was internal (drum). Mad that I didn't see transmission issues with this model before I purchased. That was before I joined CR."

"The whole dashboard display shut down including speedometer, tachometer, etc. There were no visual indicators nor sounds when the car was operating. The turn signals worked, the lights were on but nothing to indicate this. If the radio was on you couldn't hear it. The dealer had to perform a hard reset to restore all functions."

"Failure of audio unit seemed to disable secondary display used by steering wheel menu system, audio system and clock. Significance of this failure overwhelmed by unstoppable audio system fail (loud noises even when car off and key removed). Don't need menu system to control a broken radio, and look at my watch to find the time."

"Audio subsystem fails. Radio generates very loud noise, even when car (accessories) turned off and key removed. Startle could lead to accident. Issue discussed online. Mine failed at 10 years, others failed earlier."
