    First Take
Redesigned for 2001, the Chrysler Voyager takes the place of the defunct Plymouth Voyager and, like its cousin the Dodge Caravan, is 12 inches shorter than the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan. Overall, the changes to the new model are incremental rather than revolutionary. Engine power has been increased, but acceleration remains lackluster and fuel economy unimpressive with the popular 3.3-liter. The Voyager rides fairly comfortably, and handling is secure. The third row is now a handy 50/50 split bench thats now easier to remove, though its still not as versatile as the Honda Odysseys fold-into-the-floor third row.
