What Owners Say
"This particular problem is a result of the faulty ABS that I mentioned previously."
Anonymous A., KY (2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS 5.2-L V8)
"The ABS oftentimes seems to be activated when it shouldn't be. The vast majority of the time when the brakes are applied, the ABS fights against you. Sometimes it reaches the point where the brakes are quite weak, affecting stopping distances. At which point, turning the truck off and back on usually helps. However, the ABS is pretty much always flawed. I think that it has contributed to premature wear on the brakes and calipers. This ABS problem was present in another model year of the same truck that I once owned. Apparently, this ABS issue is present in numerous model years in these trucks. Various attempts to fix the issue more often than not fail to do so. Supposedly the best way to address it is to completely disable ABS, which is not ideal."
