    Cadillac Catera

    EPA MPG: NA

    First Take
In our 1997 road test the Catera did very well. It competed well with the best European and Japanese sports sedans. It handles nimbly and accelerates smoothly, and the brakes are exceptional. The ride is firm, supple, and well controlled. An effective traction-control system is standard. The interior is roomy; the front seats are large and supportive, and three adults fit nicely in the rear. Some updates to the controls and a mild face lift were introduced last year. This is the last year for the Catera, to be replaced by the CTS.
