Audi A4 First Drive
Introduction
This sports sedan is nimble and stylish. The 2.8-liter, 190-hp V6 version is strong and refined, while the less expensive 1.8T version, with a 150-hp turbo Four, is responsive though less refined. The ride is firm yet compliant. The optional five-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and allows easy manual shifts. The front seats are very comfortable; the rear seat is cramped. Audi's all-wheel-drive Quattro feature improves handling stability and increases winter traction. A wagon version, the A4 Avant, is also available. A high-performance, 250-hp S4 version is new for 2000.
