    In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

    What Owners Say

    Apple CarPlay

"Often fails to connect requiring resetting or turning off the infotainment system to get it to work."

Anonymous A., CA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Backup or other camera/sensors

"Poor quality compared to other makes"

Anonymous, PA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Display screen freezes up

"The display screen froze up and wouldnt turn off when I turned off car. Drained battery"

Anonymous, IL (2019 Acura RDX 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"The infotainment system froze, leaving me the option of driving directly to a dealer or letting it strand me by killing the battery. The dealer did fix it for free, because there was a wiring harness recall that I didn't know about."

Anonymous A., ON (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Display screen goes blank

"The screen, audio and nav system went blank. Issue was resolved at the dealer by doing a hard reboot."

Anonymous, CA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    In-dash navigation system (GPS)

"Voice recognition is poor and often gets locked into a loop. Poor in understanding locations either by voice or typing. Example: if you say Safeway grocery store or Safeway supermarket it does not recognize the entry but if you just say Safeway it does."

Anonymous A., CA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    "Explained previously."

Anonymous, CA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Exhaust

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"Three problems. Sun shade for sun roof failed to close. Dealer damaged replacement and full sun roof frame needed replacement. And, the driver's seat automatic adjustment is noisy when operating. The dealer lubricated it but that failed to fix the problem. Finally, the rear hatch is often noisy when opening or closing. Dealer lubricated it multiple times without fixing it. Finally, they replaced one of the pistons that controls opening & closing. That failed to fix the problem."

Anonymous, PA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Hatch makes a horrible sound when opening. Sounds like it will give out any day now."

Anonymous, CO (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"Sunroof motor stopped working. It started almost a year ago; after about 4-5 months of discussions with the dealership, they finally replaced it for me, at their cost."

Anonymous, ON (2019 Acura RDX A-Spec 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

"AWD sensors in differential malfunctioned and required replacement at a cost of $1,000.00. A common Acura issue."

Anonymous A., ON (2019 Acura RDX Base 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Pulsation or vibration

"At approx 30,000 miles I had brakes inspected by a dealership due to pulsation and vibration when braking particularly on the highway. They said all four rotors are warped and will neeed to be replaced. But with brake pad life left, and this not being a safety issue, I can continue to drive if I can bare the vibration. So I have reluctantly. These OEM rotors have never been machined. Theyre just cheap steel and not thick enough to handle the weight of the vehicle and every day, normal wear and tear."

Anonymous A., MA (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
    Squeaking

"Brake pads have squeaked from time to time since purchased new until now at 42,000 miles. Decent life of the pads, but noisy."

Anonymous A., MA (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

Other major transmission & clutch problem

"After coming off the highway and waiting at a stoplight, the transmission would not get out of first gear. I had to pull over to the side and shut off the vehicle. After restarting it went back to normal. It seemed to be a one time occurrence."

Anonymous, ON (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Engine Major

Engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt.

    What Owners Say

    Head gasket

"Major parts repair done under extended warranty. Repairs very well done. Loaner vehicle and all costs covered"

Anonymous, NS (2019 Acura RDX 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Oil leaks

"Unclear on the specific problem, we just know theres a internal oil leak of some sort that triggers limp mode in the car. This has happened twice, once was on a road trip but was able to get the car home on 2 wheel drive and without most of the of the driver aids, even simpler ones like cruise control. The other happened just a week or so ago, it was brought in as we had thought the fuel pump was going (as per the recall notice we received months earlier) but they didn't find anything, got it back and a hour later it went into limp mode. Seemed like the culprit was the same as the issue road trip, IE internal oil leak of some sort. Weather was vastly different for both occurrences, one was in the winter, very snowy, the other was in the spring, above freezing."

Anonymous, AB (2019 Acura RDX A-Spec 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Noises/Leaks

Squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Squeaks or rattles

"When I go up a slight incline, I gear a clicking noise, OFTEN"

Anonymous A., MD (2019 Acura RDX Tech 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

"Trim discolored but was replaced at no charge"

Anonymous, PA (2019 Acura RDX Advance 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)
