If you want a cleaner home, a good vacuum is the key to achieving your goals—and you don’t have to break the bank to get one that excels. There are plenty of offers on many types of vacuums, whether you prefer canistershandhelds, sticksrobots, or uprights. You can even find deals on other floor-care products, including combo vac-mops, carpet cleaners, and steam mops.

When highlighting vacuum sales, we consider factors that include the model’s performance in our tests, its brand’s predicted reliability and owner satisfaction, the features it offers, and the size of the discount vs. the typical cost of the product.

If you’re not sure which vacuum is right for you, check out our vacuum buying guide or our full vacuum ratings, which show you how more than 200 models performed in our tests.

    Robotic Vacuums

The Dyson 360 vis nav doesn’t go on sale all that often, and this 50 percent discount is likely a continuation of Labor Day sales so it may not be around for too much longer. It stands out for its unique features and powerful cleaning performance despite some limitations and its high price. It’s on the heavy side but compensates with extremely strong suction, effectively picking up pet hair and embedded dirt. Instead of a conventional side brush, it uses an extending side duct to tackle edges and corners. It also has a large brush roll that spans the full size of the vacuum for effective cleaning, and though its dustbin is relatively small, it’s equipped with a convenient one-touch ejection system for easy emptying.

The iRobot Roomba Max 705 might be slightly more expensive than some other robots, but it’s the highest-performing one we’ve tested, which may be a reason to lay out the cash. It’s quiet and does well in every cleaning test we’ve thrown at it. It’s also outstanding at vacuuming up pet hair and is no slouch at cleaning carpets either, with a feature that increases suction power when it detects carpet. This vacuum is also better than many other robotic vacuums at navigating spaces and avoiding obstacles.

For a decent price, you’re getting a good deal with the Eureka NERE10SW. It’s very good at cleaning carpets, perhaps due to the automatic suction boost the vacuum gets when it detects that it’s on a carpet. It’s stellar at vacuuming up pet hair and performs just as well at removing debris from bare floors. But it tends to have a harder time cleaning the edges and corners of a room.

The vacuum comes with a self-emptying base that it returns to after each cleaning session. Though it’s a strong cleaner, it’s not necessarily as efficient as some of the other models we’ve tested. We noticed that it took longer than other robotic vacuums to fully clean our test area.

If you dislike robovacs that are too noisy, the Eufy RoboVac 11S Max is the choice for you. It’s unobtrusively quiet, and it gets high scores for how well it can navigate through your home and avoid obstacles. While it’s only so-so at cleaning carpets, it’s impressive at picking up debris from bare floors. We like that its profile is slim, so that it can get underneath low furniture without getting stuck.

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Vacuum Cleaner is very quiet and exemplary at cleaning up bare floors and pet hair. It comes with a self-emptying docking station, though one of the downsides is that you’ll have to buy replacement bags for the base. It was $350 at Walmart a couple weeks ago, but this is still a nice discount if you’re looking for an iRobot model.

    Upright Vacuums

At 12 pounds, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away LA300 is one of the lightest bagless uprights we’ve tested. Its convenient features include a detachable pod and manual suction control on the handle. It’s excellent at cleaning bare floors and pet hair and very good at cleaning carpets. Its suction power isn’t bad either, earning a very good rating in that test. In our member surveys, Shark uprights receive a respectable mark for predicted reliability and an exemplary rating for owner satisfaction.

If you don’t have a lot of carpets at home, it’s worth considering the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away NV752, which is excellent at cleaning bare surfaces. It’s one of the quieter upright vacuums we tested, and it also scores well for picking up pet hair. The vacuum comes with LED headlights, which can spotlight any debris on the floor while you’re cleaning.

If you’re a pet owner, the price on this Shark Vertex DuoClean AZ2002 is a real steal—it was as low as $270 during Prime Day and other big July sales, but this is the best discount available now. It picks up pet hair especially well, has exceptional suction power, and does a solid job of containing small dust particles. It also has a lift-away canister, which makes cleaning hard-to-reach places easier. The self-cleaning brush roll prevents pet hair (and any long hair) from wrapping around it and getting tangled in the vacuum.

    Combo Vacuum-Mops

The Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vac Mop (try saying that three times fast) is one of three combo-vacuum mops in our ratings that can run without dispensing liquid. The Bissell is best at dry pickup and stain removal, scoring only middling scores for wet pickup, ease of cleaning, and run time. It’s already one of the more affordable models in our ratings, so this price makes it an even more attractive option.

The Shark HydroVac Pro XL Cordless Mop jumps between this discount and full price fairly quickly, so you may want to act fast before it’s back up to $300 again. It scored very well in all of our cleaning tests, though our evaluators pointed out it’s not the easiest to clean after you use it. Its battery life is on the shorter side, with an average of 22 minutes, but it’s fairly lightweight, at just 9 pounds.

    Cordless Stick Vacuums

We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to reach underneath furniture better, and the vacuum itself folds to allow for more compact storage. While it’s only decent at cleaning carpets, the vacuum shines in cleaning up pet hair and bare, uncarpeted floors. The price for this vacuum fluctuates, but this is the lowest we’ve seen in months.

Miele vacuums rarely go on sale, so this is definitely worth a look if you’ve wanted one. The flexibility of the Miele Triflex HX2 is one of the things we enjoy the most about it. You can adjust the placement of the bin to either the top or bottom of the vacuum depending on the areas you’re cleaning in your home. You can also convert it into a hand vacuum. The vacuum is quiet and boasts exceptionally strong cleaning performance in our bare floors, edges, and pet hair tests.

Yes, the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra VS90F40DMK/AA is on the expensive side, but it checks all the boxes we want for a cordless stick vac. Its average runtime is longer than most of the other cordless stick vacs we tested, which means the vacuum’s less likely to die on you in the middle of cleaning. It scores well for cleaning carpets, a rarity for a stick vac. And the vacuum comes with a cleaning station that automatically empties its contents into the station’s bin, a plus for convenience.

We’ve seen the Shark Stratos IZ862H as low as $250 around Black Friday, but that big of a discount isn’t likely going to come around anytime soon, so now’s a good chance to buy this vacuum. Many retailers had sales in mid-July, but now only Amazon is selling it for a discount. It has Shark’s signature DuoClean brush roll and a flexible wand for reaching under furniture. It earns top scores for cleaning bare floors and removing debris along edges. But if you have carpet, it’s only so-so. A dirt sensor increases suction when the vacuum senses debris and decreases when the floor is clean. It also has a self-cleaning mechanism that prevents hair from getting tangled around the brush roll.

    Corded Stick Vacuums

The corded Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 offers top-notch cleaning for bare floors and pet hair and performs above average on carpet. Home Depot no longer lists this as a sale, even though it hasn’t been at this price very long, so odds are it won’t increase again anytime soon. It features an auto-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed to the surface, transitioning efficiently between carpet and hard floors. It also has two brush rolls: one with rubber fins for optimal contact with surfaces and a soft roller to capture small particles. It can be pulled apart for compact storage, allowing it to stand on its own and take up minimal space. This model even boasts the ability to deliver powerful suction in the reverse direction for more efficient cleaning in both forward and backward motion. In our member surveys, Shark corded vacuums earn a top-level mark for predicted reliability and a near-top-level mark for owner satisfaction.

    Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002

With the Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002, you’re getting a 2-in-1 tool: a stick vac that can also convert into a hand vac, which weighs a light 2.9 pounds. This vac, which was $20 less during Labor Day weekend, earned top-tier scores in our bare floors and pet hair tests. It comes with a self-cleaning pet power brush that is designed to remove pet hair from upholstery, stairs, and more without the hair getting entangled inside.

    Canister Vacuums

If you’re looking for a canister that will do well on both carpets and bare floors, consider the Kenmore 500 Series DC5070. The vacuum aced our bare floor cleaning tests and notched a very good score for carpet cleaning as well. We like that there’s a handle on the side of the vacuum that makes it easier to carry and maneuver. One of our favorite features of this model is the hair eliminator nozzle, which has ridges that help loosen and remove tangled hair.

While the Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly CrossOver 21814 might be on the heavier side at 26 pounds, it makes up for it with its strong performance. Compared to other vacuums we test, it’s especially good at cleaning carpets and bare floors. Its suction power also earned an excellent score, the highest in its category.

    Steam Mops

In our tests, the Bissell PowerFresh Slim does an excellent job of cleaning various stains off ceramic tiles and has a decent steam rate. It comes with a 25-foot cord, which makes it easier to maneuver, and a ready indicator light. It gets some points deducted for convenience because it doesn’t have a place to easily store its cord, and you need to use a funnel to fill the mop with water. The mop can be converted into a handheld steaming device for targeted cleaning on your windowsills, kitchen appliances, countertops, grout, and more. Like other Bissell models, this one includes a two-year warranty for repair and replacement.

The Steam & Go Housekeeper 10-in-1 SAG806D is impressive at cleaning stains off tile floors. Its run time is long, lasting around 19 minutes on its maximum setting. It also comes with many convenient tools, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, and carpets.

    Carpet Cleaners

The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus is a great choice if you want to own your own carpet cleaner, especially at this price. It aced our drying tests and demonstrated strong cleaning performance—plus, our testers found it very convenient to use. Its hose length, just short of 7 feet, makes it good for stairs and larger homes, and per tank of solution, it covers about 39 square feet. It also features carrying handles and separate tanks for clean and dirty water.

A high performer among the portable carpet cleaners we tested, the Shark StainStriker PX201 Carpet Cleaner is decent at cleaning stains and impressive at removing cleaning solutions from carpets. It comes with a 57-inch hose and other attachments, including pet tools.

The Shark CarpetXpert EX201 isn’t exactly quiet—it earned a middling rating in our noise test—but it boasts strong performance in cleaning stains. It also did well in our dryness test and is excellent at removing cleaning solution from carpets. It comes with a hose that’s 60 inches long to get into tight spots.
